Follow up appointment of SUCK

I went to my follow up appointment this morning. They had me sit around for 2 hours while a room opened. They took my vital signs and said I had a fever of 99. Down 1 degree from wednesday. As soon as I enter the room, I had to wait another 30 minutes before a doc came in. The first thing he did was look at it, and said "we have to open it up again. Theres more pus." BOOM. automatically I start tearing up thinking of the pain from last time. This time I think he used a scalpel instead of a needle. He said 'the other guy probably used a big needle to numb the area. I'm using a small needle.' IN my head I'm thinking "its a fucking needle. Doesn't matter the size, its still going to hurt.' After he tortured me with the pain and blood, I started gargling water to get all the blood out of my mouth. after doing it for about 10 minutes, I coughed up a big blood clot with white stuff floating around it. He told me that should be enough gargling, cause I want the cut to clot and close up. But I think thats what happened last time, I left something behind and it started pussing up again. He wrote me more prescriptions for vicodin and a steroid called 'methylprednisolone (4mg a tab)' to reduce the swelling. I couldn't talk at all. Not even swallow my spit. He was cracking jokes and trying to make me laugh, it was hurting trying not to laugh, but it hurt more actually laughing. After we dropped off the prescriptions in the pharmacy, he brought me home so I could take some vicodin. after about an hour it kicked in. and I was able to swallow. I took the steroid and ate some cereal. After 3 days of no food, It hit the spot.

We went to dinner with his girlfriend and son. I ate, carefully. But still couldn't eat everything. I'm not sure If I'll be able to go to work tomorrow, but since its at night, and only for 4 hours, I might chance it. I need the money.

Damn that sucked.

Music Johnny Cash - Rose Of My Heart

I was in the hospital practically all day yesterday. My throat was swollen, sore, it was hard to swallow, and sometimes it was hard to breath. On tuesday I left work 2 hours after showing up, I just had to. Yesterday morning around 6, I texted my brother to call me when he woke up. H called around 9 am, and said he'll be over in 2 hours. Around 10 I had to call him and ask if he could hurry up, the pain was unbearable. He took me to the hospital, but decided to call my sister and ask about the free clinics, since my health benefits from work don't kick in till next year. Turns out, I still needed to make an appointment, and would still cost me money. He called a number she gave him, and after an hour on hold, got me on emergency medi-cal. After they get my info entered into their system and I waited around, I saw a doctor. She said I had a "absence" in my throat. What it says on my paperwork: Sometimes germs get underneath the skin and start to grow and multiply, producing an infection. For reasons that are not clear, some skin infections develop a collection of pus, referred to as an "abscess". They put me in a hall since they were out of beds at that moment, and put in an IV so I could get hydrated. I was feeling nauseous and asked for a bucket. I kind of threw up into it, so the nurse gave me something for the nausea. After a room opens up, and they put me on a bed, I started falling asleep. I couldn't sleep since tuesday, so I any sleep I could get was great. They gave me a suction tube so I could just suck my saliva out of my mouth instead of swallowing it. After a few hours, the throat, ear, neck, specialist came in and told me what he had to do to, he had to stick a needle into the abscess and suck out the pus. Damn that sucked, but I feel a lot better. He put in a local anesthetic into my throat and the nurse gave me morphine before to help minimize pain. Altho the place she stuck the needle into was my butt, and couldn't feel my legs for a few minutes. I could barely open my mouth, and he had to pry it open enough so he could get the tongue depressor and needles into the back of my throat. For what felt like an eternity, actually about 5 minutes, he had a needle poking into my abscess sucking out puss. he had me gargle water and used the suction tube to suck out all the blood/pus. I looked at the collection bottle and it was half full with blood. for 2 hours after he poked it, I didn't swallow any spit, I used the suction tube. I looked at it closely to see if there was any more blood in my mouth. I saw specs of blood, but for the most part, it stopped bleeding. He said I could eat right away, but I had to gargle with a special mouth wash after eating or the food can get stuck in hole he made and refill with pus. Then he would have to drain it again and then remove my tonsils. A nurse came in and took down my blood pressure and temperature. I had a normal heart beat, but I had a 100 degree fever. After they discharged me, they gave me a few prescriptions to take. Peridex, the mouthwash, vicodin, clindamycin (antibiotic). While I was waiting in line at the pharmacy, I was felling dizzy, and started breaking out in a cold sweat. I went into the waiting room and grabbed a chair to sit in while I was waiting in line at the pharmacy. They said It would take 3 hours. After 2 hours my brother picked me up, I went to baskin robbins and got some ice cream to cool down and to have something to eat. I didn't realize the ice cream had nuts in it, so right after we went there, we went to go pick up my meds. I got home around 6:30 and as soon as I got home, I used the mouth wash, cause I don't want to have my tonsils removed. I took my meds and fell asleep around 9 pm. I woke up about an hour ago and took more meds. Plus I have to work in about 2 hours, I'm not sure if I should, but its only for 4 hours, and I'm not going (or try) to strain myself.

I have to go in for a follow up appointment on friday. God I hope they say everything is fine.
