Man, ain't this some shit. My DVD player is fucking up. Its not even a year old and its already fucking up. I got a Symphonic WF803 DVD/VCR combo cause I needed a new DVD player cause mine was old, and sometimes wouldn't read discs, and a VCR cause the VCR I had before was eating tapes. So I opted for the DVD/VCR to fix both problems. but now in kind of an ironic twist, I could watch tapes, but not dvds. Now I don't have a viable way to watch DVDs on my TV; I could use my PS2 to watch dvds, but I heard that lessens the life span of the PS2 (I don't know how, the PS2 disks are basically dvds anyways... but I don't want to take any chances). I was frustrated and wanted to watch a movie on my TV, so I was going to use it just this once, and I have a really old tv (I've had it since I was 14) and it doesn't have RCA jacks on it, so I have the PS2 hooked up to the ones on the dvd/vcr, then the cable to the tv, but for some reason the dvd protection kicks in and it makes the screen fuzzy, and un-watchable. I don't know why the protection kicks in, there isn't even a tape in the vcr cause I hardly use the vcr. Its been pissing me off all day and I've been kicking myself cause I should of got the regular dvd player with divx playback for the same price.

I don't know this for sure, but I think the region settings got changed and I don't know how to reset them or change them; When I put the DVD in the player, it shows a little icon that its reading a dvd, then an error message saying "Playback of the disk is unavailable" So it could be that, but I have tried a dvd with no region settings, and nothing.

So if anybody knows how to change the region settings for a symphonic WF803, or knows what could be the problem with it, or that works for symphonic that could send me a new one or a newer one so I don't have to worry about trying to get it fixed, or somebody buy me a new one for the same reson, or what ever, let me know.
